Since his early childhood, Frédéric Gagnon is impassioned with music. He attended the Petits chanteurs du Mont-Royal school for his primary education, a school with a musical vocation. It is while attending Joseph-François-Perrault High School that Frédéric is initiated to the trumpet and the moment from which he seriously considers a career in music.

He completes his University studies in 2002. An exacting and passionate musician to the core, he is a regular member of the Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean Symphony Orchestra and of the Drummondville Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, he performs occasionally for several Montreal region ensembles such as the Metropolitan Orchestra and the Laval and Trois-Rivières Symphony Orchestras.

Frédéric did not consider a career in chamber music until Sylvain Lapointe came across his path and offered him the role of Musical Director and solo trumpet for the Buzz project. Frédéric enthusiastically accepted, bringing precision and musicality to the project.

After holding several specialist positions for close to 10 years within reputable high school music programs, Frédéric presently teaches trumpet at the CÉGEP Saint-Laurent and the Université de Sherbrooke. Although Buzz occupies an important part of his career, teaching remains a passion and the stimulation of sharing his knowledge with the younger generation makes him a totally fulfilled musician.
