The first Buzz CD was released on October 11th 2005. The musical repertoire on this eponymous album  — Buzz —  comes from the concert entitled V’là l’bon vent.

This recording consists of a repertoire of traditional folk music. You will hear traditional francophone tunes, a tribute to three pillars of Quebecois song — Gilles Vigneault, Félix Leclerc, and Mary Travers (also known as La Bolduc) — as well as a few works from the brass quintet repertoire.

Welcome to Buzz’s very own musical universe!

What the critics are saying:

“This first CD is a success in every respect. Brilliant Buzzers for immortal songs.

Christophe RODRIGEZ, Le Journal de Montréal, October 8, 2005

“A formidable blend of humor and rigor. The ensemble really delights its listeners, whether they come to folklore from the chamber music world, or vice versa.”

Dominique DENIS, Panorama, October 25, 2005

“One has to joyously approve the original initiative. A superb experience. Lots of beautiful music. A fine present to give someone.”

Mario FELTON-COLETTI, La Scena Musicale, December 2005

A second Buzz CD, simply entitled Noël, was released on November 21st 2006. The repertoire on this CD is drawn from the concert A Sparkling Christmas.

At the heart of innumerable musical projects relating to Christmas, Buzz stands out of the crowd by presenting a recording which takes on a very particular colour. With the diversity of the chosen pieces and the special union between the talent of Buzz and the composer Enrico O. Dastous, Noël is bound to captivate you.

The production of this festive yet touching album finds Buzz surrounded by a choir of twelve singers and three musicians – a harpist, a timpanist and percussionist all conducted by reputable Julian Wachner.

What the critics are saying:

“Buzz has to some extent become the successor of the mythical Canadian Brass. This Montreal brass ensemble has succeeded in making their second CD quite an achievement.  All while staying true to tradition, these five musicians make us rediscover Christmas. Your family gatherings will be a success.
